Join Bible teacher and founder of Iron Sheep Ministries Dave Bigler as he shares his passion for the science and study of textual criticism. Simply put textual criticism is the process of attempting to ascertain the original wording of a lost text. The pharisaic practice of piecing together a lost text is not unique to the Bible, it is used on any ancient text that we do not have the originals of (known as the autographs). How do we know the words in our Bible are what the original authors (inspired by the Holy Spirit) actually wrote down?
Part two of the lecture series takes that foundation to explore the practice of Bible translation. Dave will walk through the two apposing methods of translation: thought-for-thought vs word-for-word and how they inform on all modern day translations.
Thank you to Adirondack Christian Fellowship for hosting both of these lectures. Please RSVP below to ensure you have a seat.

What is Advent? What is an Advent wreath and what’s up with the candles? Is Advent only practiced by Catholics, or should all Christ-following evangelicals practice it?
